SO… my parents are here in Big Sandy. WHoo hOO!!! Tis MARVELOUS and WONDERFUL! And just so everyone knows…There is no coffee in the world like my mother’s.

Question: Is it the coffee that’s so good? Or the fact that my mother made it?

Really – I think its the coffee. Or…well…a little bit of both :) :)

Here’s pic of us gals!!! I love family :)

The Starbucks in Longview (the one by Target) :)

Danae, Cassia, Bristol, and I went out today…Our last stop was Starbucks.

Earlier, I had purchased at Walmart a very plain yet practical clear glass container to serve as pencil holder for my office desk. When I arrived at Starbucks, I was struck with inspiration upon seeing a mug at the counter, filled with whole coffee beans which supported an assortment of handy-dandy ink pens.

The idea was PERFECT for the office. But alas, I have no whole coffee beans. SO, once again, inspiration struck!

I decided to take a long shot and asked the gal behind the counter if, by any chance, they had any older, stale, whole coffee beans lying around that I could have. I let her know that I too knew that mine was a rather random question, and that I’d like to try out their pen holder for myself. :)

A bit taken back by my unexpected question (and with a line of non-question-asking customers behind me), she thought, pondered, then informed me that she didn’t think they had any. :( (WHAT?? They don’t collect stale coffee beans??? ;) ) She turned to another gal (I believe t’was a manager) and asked her my question.

At some point, I was informed that “yes, indeed” this was a random question.

The manager gal said that “no” – they didn’t have any beans to share with me. BUT then inspiration and kindness struck HER!

She was like “We don’t have any – but you can have OURS.”

Bless her heart, she got me a little bag and filled it with the coffee beans out of THEIR mug!!!!!!! So sweet!

So now, I have my free, whole coffee beans to put on my desk. My random question was answered beyond satisfactorily. And I hope the customers in line behind me weren’t too perturbed by me – the random-question-asking customer.

Speaking of random questions…this concludes a random post. :D

So the other day – or other WEEK :) – we went to the rodeo. I believe it was as I sat there in the stands that I discovered that during the Big Sandy Children’s Institute my camera had been hijacked by a mysterious person. The evidence provided proof beyond doubt…..See for yourself…..

MmmHmm…..Now YOU don’t doubt it either, do you?

World, meet Andrew, my CI “boss”. :) (Who, I doubt, never imagined that his self-portraits would make it to my blog) :)

Y’all have a lovely day. :-D

Words can get us in trouble, and sometimes be hard to put together, and sometimes they don’t communicate enough. But WOW…They sure do come in handy :-)

I have been back home in lovely South Louisiana this weekend. You know, I love this place…The grand oak trees draped with Spanish Moss, fields that stretch out flat and far, little towns along the way with French names (Ville Platte, Grand Coteau, Boutte, Breaux Bridge…). The fact that in every other state, everyone else in the country lives in counties – but here we live in parishes. Yes…I love calling South Louisiana “home”.

We had a family reunion on Saturday – and were all treated to a crawfish boil at my uncle’s home. It’s gonna be a new family tradition. :) I brought my camera and documented the occasion for y’all. But alas, I have left my camera cord in Big Sandy. SO – you’ll have to enjoy the delight of “anticipation” for awhile :) I know y’all are “chomping at the bit” for that post ;)

Tomorrow afternoon, I fly to Nashville for the Children’s Institute at the Regional ATI Conference. That’ll be fun :) Your prayers are GREATLY appreciated. I’m feeling pretty tuckered out – and haven’t even gotten there yet. One thing I know, the Lord’s grace is sufficient. Father always gives His strength. Now unto Him…

So, my friends, here is my prayer for you…..

May you be found in Christ. May He be your best thought. May you delight to do His will. May you know, Know, KNOW and trust in the very depths of your heart that He is FAITHFUL and SOVEREIGN and GOOD – even when things seem crazy, or lonely, or when you don’t see how things will turn out. May you KNOW and REST.

And when all is said and done, when you lay your head down to sleep tonight, and when you stand before Him in glory, may His words be “Well done.”

Live for eternity my friends. We are just passing through this place – yet it matters so much. Remember, God never asks anything of us that He doesn’t give us SO MUCH more in return.

Love y’all!

Well, I have this ITCH to post. It has been quite a while, I know. Been interesting with working all day, being sleepy or busy in the evenings, or not being set up with internet at my house [which is resolved as of this afternoon – YAY :) ]. Anyways….

There are a MILLION things I could say. I’d LOVE to post pictures of the last month [SO much has been going on], or write a long letter to encourage your hearts in the Lord [from one friend to another], or share with you what the Lord has been teaching me [He is so faithful to draw us to Himself].

For tonight though, I guess I’ll just say that…well….

God is good. His mercies are new every morning. He shows His love in the sweetest, most tender ways.

I hope our paths cross again soon, my dear family, friends, and readers! Until then…keep in touch. Trust JESUS. Love JESUS. Abide in JESUS. May our Lord be your Home.

Sarah
