“Perhaps some future day, Lord, Thy strong hand
Will lead me to the place where I must stand
Utterly alone.

Alone, O Gracious Lover, but for Thee;
I shall be satisfied if I can see
Jesus only.

I do not know Thy plan for years to come,
My spirit finds in Thee its perfect home,
Sufficiency.

Lord, all my desire is before Thee now,
Lead on, no matter where, no matter how-
I trust in Thee.”

~Elisabeth Elliot

Friends, I want to be found faithful. I want to be found faithful when I stand before my Father’s throne. I want to be found faithful 50 years from now. I want to be found faithful tomorrow and this very moment. All of me, all for Him. Nothing held back. All Jesus. I want to be a disciple of the Living God – not just in word, but in the very depths of who I am.

Today, I am not doing anything grand nor glorious. I am not serving on a foreign mission field. I am not running a soup kitchen. I am not suffering for my faith. But I am ALIVE.

And as long I am ALIVE, I will be FAITHFUL. I will be faithful when no one else sees. I will be faithful when I don’t know what tomorrow holds. I will be faithful in the daily deeds and in those things that seem insignificant [but really aren’t].

As long as I live.

And when this life is over, I will stand before my Lord. And my heart will leap as I hear those words, “Well done.”

Sarah

WHAT are you seeing??? Yes, you’ve got it… PERKY is at MY house!!! (this is Mel…)

There I was, minding my own business—and instant messaging Perky. I was really bummed that my weekend was full, because I really felt like giving a certain Louisiana girl a HUGE hug! Perky said she could come see ME…but we just didn’t see how it was going to work. She is working on curriculum, and I’m working on school—how could we take time off to visit? NOT to mention that our parents would have to agree to the whole crazy-brainy idea!! We sadly pushed it out of our minds, and went back to our regularly scheduled activities.

SUDDENLY…Perky IMs me and casually says, “I just mentioned coming over to your house, and my dad was totally OK with it!! I can come and we can both work on our projects and spend our evenings visitng!” At that moment, the world stopped turning. Less than 20 hours later, a certain Louisiana girl was standing on Texas soil gasping for breath after I gave her the HUGE hug that I’d been saving up. This moment, Sarah is writing curriculum and I’m writing this post. Dad is downstairs fixing the kitchen sink, so he told mom to get pizza!!

Do you ever mentally “recede” from the world and take a look around you with a fresh perspective? (Kind of like looking at your life through virtual reality—as an outsider peeking in…) I do, and every time I am blown away by the goodness of our God. The fact that Sarah is at MY house is a gift beyond expression, a special reminder of God’s love for ME!!

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s rendezvous in the park for exercise with my favorite Swirly!!

I think I have discovered a kindred spirit….. :D

The Society of Childlike Grownups: http://www.childlikegrownups.com

There is a quote that says something like: “You cease to be a child when you cease to be fascinated.”

May I always be fascinated…blown away by evidences of God’s Glory…astonished at His creation…and thrilled by simple things that reveal a touch of my Lord. May it be the same with you………

Hi, y’all!

Just thought I’d take a minute or six to post a little…. :)

Chris and Catherine arrived late Friday night! It is SO good having them here! Boy, I love those two SO MUCH!

Chris has spent hours and hours and hours working on Daisy [my dear Dell]. My poor, much loved laptop was exceedingly ill :( NOW, though, I am loving Daisy even more! She is running like a charm and is SIGNIFICANTLY improved [in ways other than just getting over her illnesses]. YAY!!!!!!!!! :D

I really do have the best brother-in-law a gal could ask for! As a matter of fact, he is the official recipient of the “Brother-In-Law of the Year Award” – a very high honor!

Kristy and Neil came over today to visit and celebrate Catherine’s birthday – which is tomorrow!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHERINE!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Here are some pictures of the day…
