The Starbucks in Longview (the one by Target) :)
Danae, Cassia, Bristol, and I went out today…Our last stop was Starbucks.
Earlier, I had purchased at Walmart a very plain yet practical clear glass container to serve as pencil holder for my office desk. When I arrived at Starbucks, I was struck with inspiration upon seeing a mug at the counter, filled with whole coffee beans which supported an assortment of handy-dandy ink pens.
The idea was PERFECT for the office. But alas, I have no whole coffee beans. SO, once again, inspiration struck!
I decided to take a long shot and asked the gal behind the counter if, by any chance, they had any older, stale, whole coffee beans lying around that I could have. I let her know that I too knew that mine was a rather random question, and that I’d like to try out their pen holder for myself. :)
A bit taken back by my unexpected question (and with a line of non-question-asking customers behind me), she thought, pondered, then informed me that she didn’t think they had any. :( (WHAT?? They don’t collect stale coffee beans??? ;) ) She turned to another gal (I believe t’was a manager) and asked her my question.
At some point, I was informed that “yes, indeed” this was a random question.
The manager gal said that “no” – they didn’t have any beans to share with me. BUT then inspiration and kindness struck HER!
She was like “We don’t have any – but you can have OURS.”
Bless her heart, she got me a little bag and filled it with the coffee beans out of THEIR mug!!!!!!! So sweet!
So now, I have my free, whole coffee beans to put on my desk. My random question was answered beyond satisfactorily. And I hope the customers in line behind me weren’t too perturbed by me – the random-question-asking customer.
Speaking of random questions…this concludes a random post. :D
