Shoes….

They may be different in size….but they both have hugged Perkins girl feet. The big ones are mine. The little ones either carried me or my sister. It is amazing to hold teeny little shoes and think that, once upon a time, they weren’t so teeny…

Here is another pair of shoes that I appreciate. They once belonged to a little boy at a children’s home in Guatemala. I served there for a few weeks. When the little guy got “new” shoes, I decided to keep his old ones. What a reminder of the “shoes that others are walking in”……

VERY sweet shoes…remind me of VERY sweet people. Isn’t it awesome to know that the One who saw you as a little one in white shoes, sees the little one in Guatemala, AND sees you now!!!

I pray that the Lord would help me to see with His eyes too…

When I was in Guatemala on that trip, I served at a children’s home that had about 150 children at the time ranging in age from like 2-20.

I remember thinking [maybe it was my HEART thinking, not my head] that here I was with all these little ones and yet who knows how many there are in the world that are suffering. I mean, here I was in ONE home, in ONE small town, in ONE small country – it was like a drop in the ocean. Who KNEW how many suffering, impoverished, abused, lonely ones there are around the world – Thinking that they are INNUMERABLE!!!!

And the Spirit of God reminded me…That He knows and sees each one. He knows the exact number – knows the hairs on their heads – calls them each by name. What a thought….

What an AWESOME, loving God we serve…
