A Prayer…

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.

May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.

May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him

…These words are the prayer of my heart. Him, and only Him. I praise my God, Who has begun a good work in me. He alone [not me or my efforts] is the Author and the Finisher of my faith. I kneel my heart before my King and offer praise…

Our pastor brought something to light today that kinda goes along with that. It was something that stuck out to me anyway.

Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Or in other words, Spiritual Desperation is a blessing. If you’re satisfied with your spirituality as it is right now, then you are not poor in spirit. I’d never really looked at it that way before. Your prayer up there reminded me of that.

Wow! Thanks for sharing, Kevin!! Reminds me of something I heard once too along those same lines….

That same section of Scripture says, “BLESSED are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness…..”

Blessed? To HUNGER? And to THIRST? Seems to me like those come with ache and longing and desire…And yet we are blessed.

And with it comes with the hope, the assurance, the promise….OF BEING FILLED!!!!!!!

And this is no temporary satisfaction [such as what comes with food], it is ETERNAL!!!! Wow.

Just think, I can HUNGER and THIRST [and feel all the feelings that come with that – and cry the tears] and in the midst of it all….REJOICE…GIVE THANKS…REST…and LOOK FORWARD TO TOMORROW.

There is none like unto my God.
